IMPACT AFRICA
African Bible College in Malawi is more than a campus of higher learning. It is the hub of an international ministry that is tangibly impacting Africa in Christ’s name. It houses one of three Radio ABC stations, the ABC Academy , and the ABC Community Clinic which is being expanded to include a new Pediatric Ward . Going north about 1,000 miles from Lilongwe is ABU in Kampala, Uganda and traveling over 3,000 miles northwest is ABC University in Yekepa, Liberia; which is currently being rebuilt to re-open this fall. Each one of these facilities and all of their various sub-ministries have already had a tremendous impact on the African continent but the work is far from finished and the workers are still too few. In the future we will profile some of these ministries for you but in the meantime you can explore them via the African Bible Colleges website.

Graduate Profile
With nearly 800 graduates since its inception in 1976, ABC’s graduates are not only serving as leaders in Christian ministries throughout the continent but many have attained higher degrees of education and sit in key positions of leadership in governments, media, and private business. In future newsletters we will highlight some of these graduates, their testimonies, struggles, and victories through God’s grace and provision.

Student Profile
ABC is in the process of receiving and reviewing applications for the 2008-2009 freshmen class. Testing will commence shortly from those qualified applicants. From the test results, interviews will be conducted and the new freshmen class will be chosen. It can be a daunting consuming task for the staff of ABC and a trying time for the perspective students. Much much prayer and discernment is needed. So please pray for the admissions staff at ABC, that the Lord clearly reveals those he desires to be chosen for the fall. Also, pray for those perspective students that the Lord would have join ABC for there minds to be clear, their hearts consecrated to Him, and they be protected in travel and health. In the future we hope to share about some of these freshmen so that you can hear from them how the ministry of ABC has impacted their lives and their countries.

Our Role at ABC
The staff of ABC wears many hats on a daily basis. We will join those at the Malawi campus with Jeff’s specific duties being that of using his degree in Journalism to teach in the communications department while putting his professional experience to use overseeing the bookkeeping of the Administration Office. Having served at ABC in the past Tammy will assist Jeff in these areas as needed. Jeff is also looking forward to using his musical talent for outreach and worship, while serving the people of Africa.

SUPPORT REPORT

ONE-TIME FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS NOW AT 25% OF WHAT WE NEED!

Thank you to those who have contributed financially. Please prayerfully continue to do so as our committed monthly support is still below what we need for our living expenses while in Malawi. The missionary staff of ABC is not paid or supported by the ministry. Each missionary family must be backed by those who feel called to support them. Each family spends a 3 year term on the field with one year in the states between each term. We are asking for those who will, to commit a monthly amount for the next 3 ½ years. Your monthly contributions of $5, $10, $20 or more a month will enable us to serve ABC and continue its impact on Africa for Christ.

Donate online or get mailing information by clicking here .

SPECIAL NOTE: When sending in your financial contribution, please indicate whether it is a one-time gift or if you will be committing a monthly amount. You can also email us this information at Malawi@JeffDalbey.com Zikomo! (Thank You!)

PRAYER
Thank you for all your prayers and encouragements. As March is here and Easter is around the corner we realize how fast our target departure date is approaching, less then five months from now. With that in mind we also realize that it is ALL IN GOD’S TIMING.

Answered Prayer:
First, we want to praise God for his continual financial provision.
Secondly, for the opportunity to serve CCV in the music and sound ministries.
Third, the prayer, encouragements, and support of friends and family.

Prayer Requests:
Increase in financial support, as there are many items on our “to-do” list that require the necessary funding to accomplish. In particular the application and process of passports, booking our flights, moving, storage, and the sale or lease of our home in Fallbrook.
Health of the family. We have all been battling colds and coughs since Thanksgiving. These little illnesses really can be a disruption especially for Oliver and George, when with these illnesses comes crankiness.
Continued focus and clarity of what the Lord has called us to do in his name and the strength to carry it out.

Our committed prayer support could always use more as prayer is an essential part of support. Join by email to us directly at Malawi@jeffdalbey.com.

Again, thank you to those who have been encouraging and supporting us. We truly appreciate all that you give and do. For those of you, who are receiving this letter and have not yet committed to supporting us and ABC, please prayerfully consider doing so today. We realize there are many needs even within in our communities and many families budgets are already tight. We more than understand, but our hearts feel called to fill an even greater need that is abroad and we ask that you join in supporting that call. God Bless!
